But then, one August, just as the people were about to pick it, the watermelon disappeared. Who had stolen it and why? Nobody had seen the thief. The same thing happened the following years, until the baker’s young son decided to hide in the watermelon and bring back watermelon happiness to the city. The watermelon thief was neither a dragon nor a wizard. It was a handsome young man who would fly away with the huge watermelon, to take it back to a city under a spell; a city without children or stars, without watermelons, without games and without laughter…
