Nowadays, there is a constant increase in cases of counselors of perpetrators of serious crimes, who seek psychiatric expert evidence for their clients, with the aim to avoid responsibility for their clients’ hideous actions.

On the other hand, the media and part of the scientific society claim that a “normal” person could never be responsible of any repulsive and condemnable crime, but such actions can only be the result of the morbid psyche of a disturbed person. Is such a disorder-based approach really scientific, or does it constitute an unprecedented psychologic-like attitude towards crime, that aims to the deletion of the criminal’s responsibility and to the crime’s classification under the sphere of psychiatry?

This book is the outcome of an effort to investigate the relationship between psychological disorder and criminal behavior scientifically, through the history and the progressive course of these notions, as well as through a strict scientific record of the factors that influence the cutting point of these two notions within the confines of psychoforensics.
