Jannis Psychopedis is a prominent Greek painter and one of the most famous professors of the "School of Fine Arts" in the University of Athens. An important part of his work includes a series of paintings inspired by the poetry of George Seferis, the Greek Nobelist poet. The painter and the poet had a close and tender relationship, which goes back in time. Psychopedis' aim was to reveal the inner thoughts and emotions, which are expressed in Seferis' poems.
In order to participate in the celebration of the 100 years from the birth of the poet George Seferis, Metaichmio Publications decided to publish 50 paintings of J. Psychopedis based on Seferis' poems and 12 portraits of the poet, presenting him in different periods of his life, in a unique edition which is enriched with some of the most famous of Seferis poems. The whole work ends up as a "dialogue" between the two great artists.
