Kostas Ferris was born in 1935 in Cairo and is the cultural child of the cosmopolitan education of the Greek society in Egypt. He came to Greece in 1957 and he studied cinema direction.

He is a producer, publisher, journalist, actor, he has hosted a show for the television and occasionally he dubs in singing.
His 1983 film, Rembetico, was recently voted over the Internet as the all-time "most popular Greek film internationally". He writes and created working in Greek, French, Englich, Italian and he also speaks Arabic."
