Literary Translation National Prize for a Foreign Literarure Work Translated into Greek Language [1998]

Stratis Paschalis was born in 1958 in Athens to a family from Mytilene. Since his first collection of poems, Anaktoria, in 1977, he has published another seven volumes of verse and a collection of his work from 1977 to 2002. He has translated many foreign poets and playwrights, including Shakespeare, Racine and Corneille, into Greek. He has edited anthologies of Karagatsis and Papadiamantis as well as the volume on Mytilene in Metaichmio’s A City in Literature series.
