Psychopaídis, Giánnis

Ψυχοπαίδης, Γιάννης


Yiannis Psychopedis was born in Athens in 1945. He graduated from the Athens School of Fine Arts (ASKT) and did postgraduate studies on a government scholarship at the Munich Academy of Fine Arts. He was a founding member of the Modern Greek Realists and the Visual Arts Center of Athens. He also belonged to the 10/9 arts group in Munich. He was a visiting artist with the DAAD programme in West Berlin (1977), where he lived till 1986. He then lived and worked in Brussels till 1992. In 1994, he was elected professor at ASKT. His work has been shown in many individual and group exhibitions in Greece and abroad, as well as in private collections, art galleries and museums.
